Edgar Wright’s Last Night in Soho gets a new 2021 release date

Last week we shared the news that director Edgar Wright's "straight-up psychological horror thriller" LAST NIGHT IN SOHO had been moved from its September 25, 2020 release to an unspecified date in 2021. The film had to be delayed because the COVID-19 shutdown has kept Wright and his crew from being able to complete the post-production process. Now the new release date has been announced by Wright himself:

LAST NIGHT IN SOHO will be in theatres on April 23, 2021. So it has only been pushed back seven months.

Wright wrote the screenplay with Krysty Wilson-Cairns, and it has been said that they were inspired by the likes of DON'T LOOK NOW and REPULSION. The film stars Thomasin McKenzie and Anya Taylor-Joy as characters named Eloise and Sandy. Much of the story takes place in 

the London of the Swinging Sixties; a time period with which Eloise is obsessed and, through a mysterious connection with Sandy, gets to experience.

McKenzie and Taylor-Joy are joined in the cast by Matt Smith, Michael Ajao, Synnøve Karlsen, Diana Rigg, Terence Stamp, and Rita Tushingham. 

Wright also produced the film with Nira Park and Working Title's Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner.

I'll see anything Wright makes, so I'll definitely be watching LAST NIGHT IN SOHO next year.
