I remember watching the first Resident Evil movie for my birthday, and enjoying it for what it was, but still disappointed that it didn't really follow the games all that much (which is ironic, seeing as – since it was acting a sort-of prequel to the series – the first film was by far the most faithful to canon out of the other live-action sequels).
Luckily, it seems that the newest Resident Evil film reboot will supposedly hue closer to the original games, which also just recently wrapped principle photography! You can see for yourself on Sony's official Twitter account below:

Meanwhile, the Resident Evil reboot – directed by Johannes Roberts (47 Meters Down) – will (hopefully) shamble to theaters September 9, 2021!
So what do you guys think? Excited for a new Resident Evil film? Either way, sound off below!
