Doctor Strange 2: Elizabeth Olsen comments on Sam Raimi’s directing style

One of the films I'm most looking forward to in the foreseeable future is the Doctor Strange (watch it HERE) sequel Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, because I'm a big fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and it's being directed by the legendary Sam Raimi. I can't think of anything more perfect than Raimi adding a movie called Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness to his filmography.

Benedict Cumberbatch is reprising the role of Doctor Strange in the film, which is currently in production despite some pandemic curveballs. Cumberbatch is being joined in the film by Elizabeth Olsen, once again playing Wanda Maximoff, a.k.a. Scarlet Witch – and while talking to Collider about this weekend's premiere of the MCU Disney+ series WandaVision, in which she stars, Olsen also discussed what it's like to work with Raimi on Doctor Strange.

When asked if anything Raimi has done so far while directing the film has "that Evil Dead touch", Olsen replied: 

He’s an incredible person to work with. He’s just such a unique human and I just think it’s fun getting to work with someone with such specific goals. And I love his use of camera and it’s definitely a use of camera that I’m not used to at all. So I guess that might answer your question!"

So it sounds like we're going to be getting some of that unique Raimi awesomeness in this Doctor Strange movie, just like I've been hoping.

Cumberbatch and Olsen are joined in the cast by returning Doctor Strange cast members Benedict Wong as Wong, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Mordo, and Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer. Also on board is new addition Xochitl Gomez, who is rumored to be playing America Chavez, a.k.a. Miss America.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has been written by Jade Bartlett and Michael Waldron. It's currently aiming for a March 25, 2022 release.
