Godzilla vs. Kong: Toho trailer released for March’s iconic kaiju slugfest

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Two weeks ago, Warner Bros. released the full trailer for director Adam Wingard's monster mash Godzilla vs. Kong, which is coming to theatres and to the HBO Max streaming service on March 31st. Now Toho, the Japanese studio that has been Godzilla's home ever since he made his screen debut in 1954, have released their own trailer for the film… which is almost the same as the Warner Bros. trailer, the main difference being that we see a bit more of the confrontation between Godzilla and Kong on the aircraft carrier. Check it out in the embed above!

Scripted by Mike Dougherty and Terry Rossio, Godzilla vs. Kong has the following synopsis:

In a time when monsters walk the Earth, humanity’s fight for its future sets Godzilla and Kong on a collision course that will see the two most powerful forces of nature on the planet collide in a spectacular battle for the ages. As Monarch embarks on a perilous mission into uncharted terrain and unearths clues to the Titans’ origins, a human conspiracy threatens to wipe the creatures, both good and bad, from the face of the earth forever.

Godzilla and Kong are joined in the cast by Alexander Skarsgard, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Eiza Gonzalez, Jessica Henwick, Julian Dennison, Demian Bichir, Millie Bobby Brown, Kyle Chandler, and Shun Oguri.

As a longtime fan of both Godzilla and Kong – and of their first movie together, 1962's King Kong vs. Godzilla (pick up a copy HERE) – I am really excited to see Godzilla vs. Kong.
