In a recent interview with IGN, Resident Evil Village's art director, Tomonori Takano, revealed the various inspirations for the design of the popular tall vampire lady – and current internet simp-trap – Lady Dimitrescu, which includes the great Anjelica Houston as Morticia Addams!
Takano also states they took inspiration from famed 16th-century Hungarian noblewoman and serial killer Elizabeth Báthory, as well as the Japanese urban legend "Hashaku-sama", who is "a monster who stands around eight feet tall, wears a long white dress and a wide-brimmed hat, and preys on young men."
Takano was also taken aback and pleasantly surprised by the positive responses to Dimitrescu, stating:
I don’t think anyone [on the team] could have predicted how wonderfully fans have reacted to Lady Dimitrescu…Personally, I was particularly struck by comments like, ‘I want to be chased by her.'
Meanwhile, you'll be able to be chased by Dimitrescu – if you so desire – in Resident Evil Village, which is coming out to current and last-gen consoles, as well as PC May 7th!
So what do you guys think? Looking forward to the upcoming Resident Evil sequel? Either way, sound off below!
