Halle Berry is staying in business with Netflix. The streamer landed the rights to her directorial debut that made waves at the Toronto Film Festival and now the actress has signed on to star opposite Mark Wahlberg in their thriller Our Man From Jersey.
Written by David Guggenheim and produced by Wahlberg and his partner Stephen Levinson, the plot is being kept a bit under wraps but the project is being described as a blue-collar James Bond. The plan, according to "Deadline", is to begin shooting the film early next year in London. This will be the first time that Berry and Wahlberg have worked together so this should be a fun pairing in what sounds like a potentially entertaining premise.
Halle Berry is an Oscar-winning actress that added director to her belt when she took on the MMA drama Bruised. The film earned rave reviews at the Toronto Film Festival where her work as an actress and first-time director was praised by the festival circuit. Netflix took notice and acquired the film in an eight-figure deal that was close to $20 million. The acquisition ended up being one of the largest of the 2020 film festival. Berry can next be seen in Roland Emmerich's Moonfall this year.
