Marvel’s Deadpool & Wolverine brings the multiversal box-office-breaking bromance to Disney+ this November

Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine unsheaths swords and claws on Disney+ in November, bringing the action home to fans.

Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine is almost ready to bring multiversal madness to Disney+ when the billion-dollar-grossing superhero spectacle comes to the mouse-eared streaming platform on November 12. On Wednesday, Disney announced the film’s streaming debut with a cheeky promotional video featuring Deadpool and Wolverine urinal cakes inside a surprisingly clean washroom. While the Shawn Levy-directed film is rated R, the ad does not feature any crossing of the streams or “sword fights.”

Here’s the official synopsis for Deadpool & Wolverine courtesy of Marvel Studios:

Marvel Studios presents their most significant mistake to date – Deadpool & Wolverine. A listless Wade Wilson toils away in civilian life. His days as the morally flexible mercenary, Deadpool, behind him. When his home world faces an existential threat, Wade must reluctantly suit up again with an even more reluctantlier… reluctanter? Reluctantest? He must convince a reluctant Wolverine to… oh hell, just watch the movie. Synopses are stupid.

Deadpool & Wolverine, Disney+

In addition to bringing the adventures of Wade and Logan to Disney+, the streaming release includes a Filmmaker Commentary option featuring insights from director/producer/writer Shawn Levy and star/producer/writer Ryan Reynolds.

Deadpool & Wolverine is one of the year’s biggest films, with $1.3B+ worldwide ticket sales. Marvel placed a lot of faith in the film by having it be the only one the studio released in a turbulent year for cinemas still recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic. With ticket sales at an all-time high and concessions still costing a portion of your month’s rent, the third Deadpool movie could have underwhelmed. However, the comedic draw of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman together as Deadpool and Wolverine were too enticing for fans to pass up. The bromance of the century might have been enough to sell a boatload of tickets. Still, the movie also boasts an impressive list of Easter eggs and cameos for old-school fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With Deadpool & Wolverine coming to Disney+ on November 12, fans can rewatch the film or experience it for the first time, adding more coin to Disney’s coffers.
