White Collar star Matt Bomer confirms revival series is being considered

White Collar star Matt Bomer reveals that there is “very legitimate talk” about a revival of the USA Network drama series.

White Collar, revival

According to TVLine, there is “very legitimate talk” about a revival of White Collar, the USA Network drama starring Matt Bomer, Tim DeKay, Willie Garson, and Tiffani Thiessen.

There has been talk. It’s actually very legitimate talk, it’s in conversation,” Matt Bomer said, adding that “a lot of things need to fall into place, but there is a plan in effect, at least, so we’ll see what happens.

Matt Bomer starred as Neal Caffrey, a highly intelligent and multi-talented con artist, forger, and thief who is forced to work as a criminal informant and FBI consultant. DeKay also starred as FBI Special Agent in Charge Peter Burke, Willie Garson as Mozzie, Neal’s close friend and fellow con artist, and Tiffani Thiessen as Elizabeth Burke, Peter’s wife. If a White Collar revival does happen, it would sadly have to do without Willie Garson, who died in 2021. However, Bomer seems to indicate that the potential revival would honor Garson and his character.

Obviously, that’s the first thing that came to my mind, but I felt that what [creator] Jeff Eastin presented to [star] Tim [DeKay] and I honors what he contributed to the show and honors him as a person,” Bomer said. “There’s no way I would ever be involved with it again if it didn’t do so. So I think it’s a way for him to, in some ways, still be a part of the show.

White Collar isn’t the only USA Network drama eyeing a comeback. It was announced last month that Aaron Korsh was developing a new Suits series for NBCUniversal. Despite coming to an end four years ago, Suits has been the hottest TV series of the summer, even breaking a handful of Nielsen streaming records and becoming one of Netflix’s most-watched series. The new Suits series would feature new characters and a new location, but would still take place in the same universe. Suits takes place in a fictional New York City corporate law firm and follows Mike (Patrick J. Adams), a college dropout who never attended law school but is able to talk his way into getting a job working for attorney Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) thanks to his impressive photographic memory.

Any White Collar fans out there eager for a revival?
