Taylor Swift’s Eras tour is coming to a theater near you

Did you miss your chance to catch Taylor Swift‘s Eras tour after tickets sold out? AMC and Cinemark theaters have your back. Swiftys everywhere went wild once tickets went on sale for the latest concert from the reigning pop princess. So much so that a massive controversy with Ticketmaster developed and the ticket sales service, along with Live Nation and Swift herself, all found themselves at the center of a US Senate hearing. It’s not uncommon for a tour of this magnitude to lend itself to a concert film. Now prepare for Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour to hit the screens at AMC and Cinemark venues across the nation on October 13.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, AMC will be screening at least four showtimes on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets for the special event are set to be priced at $19.89 for adults and $13.13 for children. In the event that history repeats for the sales on this theatrical showing, AMC has prepared for the stampede by stating “it has shored up its ticket server capacity to handle traffic at more than five times the current record for most tickets sold in an hour.” The theater chain will also be showing the concert film in Canada and Mexico locations and is bracing for “possible outages” that similarly crashed Ticketmaster.

AMC has released a statement that says, “AMC is also aware that no ticketing system in history seems to have been able to accommodate the soaring demand from Taylor Swift fans when tickets are first placed on sale. Guests wanting to be the first to buy their tickets online may experience delays, longer-than-usual ticket- purchase waiting-room times and possible outages. AMC is committed to ensuring any delays or outages are addressed as quickly as possible.”

Cinemark will be showing the film starting in October and running each subsequent weekend through November 5. Meanwhile, Regal Cinemas is not to be left out as the additional chain will show the concert film in its theaters stateside. And for Canadian residents, Cineplex will screen Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour in around 150 cinemas nationwide, also beginning October 13.
