Following the announcement that Bruce Willis had been diagnosed with aphasia – which soon progressed into frontotemporal dementia – most news about the actor has been kept in positive spirits. Keeping with that, Bruce Willis’ eldest daughter, Rumer Willis, has posted a tribute to him over the weekend in honor of Father’s Day.
In an Instagram post from the weekend, Rumer Willis a pair of photos of Bruce Willis and her daughter, Louetta, who was born in April. She captioned it: “Fathers to the old and new. Seeing my father hold my daughter today was something I will treasure for the rest of my life. His sweetness and love for her was so pure and beautiful. Papa I’m so lucky to have you and so is Lou. Thank you for being the silliest, most loving, coolest Daddio a girl could ask for. Best Girl Dad in the game….” (Yes, she also shared kind words about her partner/Louetta’s father.)
Rumer Willis has used social media to provide fans updates of Bruce, posting back in February about the progression of his condition. As per the Mayo Clinic, “Frontotemporal dementia is an umbrella term for a group of brain disorders that primarily affect the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain. These areas of the brain are generally associated with personality, behavior and language.”
As seen in Rumer Willis’ latest photo, Bruce Willis is indeed keeping busy, which is something the family said they were aiming to do. As a source said last winter, “He has a busy schedule with activities every day. They make sure both his body and brain is exercised.” Oh, a newborn will keep you busy all right…
While Bruce Willis has been forced to retire, Rumer has kept her toe in and out of the business, most recently appearing in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood as actress Joanne Pettet, who had lunch at Sharon Tate’s home the day of her murder. Casting her was an especially nice inclusion, as Tarantino previously directed Bruce in Pulp Fiction.
