Transformers: Rise of the Beasts gets massive touring statues, character posters

Paramount has unveiled statues, character posters and a new app to hype the release of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.

Rise of the Beasts

Ahead of the June release of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, Paramount debuted massive statues of key characters at the SXSW, in addition to fresh character posters and an AR app that lets fans get more content.

The Rise of the Beasts statues on display were of Optimus Prime (standing just under 20 feet tall) and Optimus Primal (at just over 13 feet), in addition to the car Mirage, a Porsche 911 Carrera RS 3.8 who will be voiced by Pete Davidson. You can view them below, with stars Tobe Nwigwe, Dominique Fishback and Anthony Ramos, as well as producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura and director Steven Caple Jr. for scale.

The statues can be seen in the following cities building up to the June release of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts: its current location, the SXSW Festival in Austin (March 10-17); CinemaCon in Las Vegas (April 24-May 12); the Navy Pier in Chicago (May 16-26); and Times Square in New York City (June 2-8). Around the globe, the statues will be in Brazil on March 15, Singapore on March 16 and Japan sometime in early August.

The touring Rise of the Beasts statues also have an accompanied augmented reality app which allows fans to scan the statue to unlock exclusive posters, bonus videos, social stickers, and stats about the statues. For those that can’t make it to one of the above cities, don’t worry–you can scan pretty much any object and it will unlock the features. For example, my pug’s alt version is evidently a semi-truck, just like Optimus Prime. You can view the new posters below:

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is looking to resurrect the franchise, which hasn’t seen a new entry since 2018’s Bumblebee. It is also the first entry since 2017’s The Last Knight to have the Transformers label in its title.

The plot, as per Paramount: “Returning to the action and spectacle that have captured moviegoers around the world, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will take audiences on a ‘90s globetrotting adventure with the Autobots and introduce a whole new faction of Transformer – the Maximals – to the existing battle on earth between Autobots and Decepticons.”
