The Fast and the Furious Legacy Trailer takes us back to the humble beginnings of the franchise

Before Fast X races into theaters, NBCUniversal has treated extended members of the Fast family with The Fast and the Furious Legacy Trailer, taking us back to where it all began for Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto and his band of thieves. The slick footage brings us back to the franchise’s start, with The Fast and the Furious, directed by Rob Cohen. In the film that started it all, Los Angeles police officer Brian O’Conner must decide where his loyalty lies when he becomes enamored with the street racing world he has been sent undercover to destroy. The action-packed street racing extravaganza stars a baby-faced Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Rick Yune, Chad Lindberg, Matt Schultze, and more.

The Fast and the Furious Legacy Trailer is, without a doubt, a cog in the hype machine for Fast X, the penultimate chapter of the core Fast and Furious series of films. According to reports, the first trailer for Fast X arrives two days before Super Bowl LVII. Sources say the Fast X trailer will clock in at over three minutes, previewing plenty of high-octane action, science-defying physics, and long-winded speeches about family. In addition to the trailer on February 10, a new TV spot for the film will air during the Super Bowl. Nothing gets you pumped for the gridiron ballet like the scent of burnt rubber, the hiss of nitrous oxide, and challenging middle-aged men for pink slips.

Louis Leterrier directs Fast X from a screenplay by Justin Lin and Dan Mazeau. Returning castmembers include Vin Diesel as Dominic Toretto, Michelle Rodriguez as Letty, Jordana Brewster as Mia Toretto, Scott Eastwood as Little Nobody, Tyrese Gibson as Roman, Sung Kang as Han, Ludacris as Tej, Nathalie Emmanuel as Ramsey, Charlize Theron as Cipher, and Helen Mirren as Queenie.

Newcomers to the franchise include Jason Momoa as the “evil and androgynous” villain Dante, Alan Ritchson (Reacher), Brie Larson (Captain Marvel), Rita Moreno (West Side Story), Michael Rooker (Slither), and Daniela Melchoir (The Suicide Squad).
