James Gunn sets the record straight on Wonder Woman and confusion with the slate

Yesterday, a bombshell report from Variety let loose a bunch of rumors about what may be happening behind the scenes at DC. New head honcho James Gunn took to Twitter to clear up the various factoids being spread about his vision for the brand. On the reports that Wonder Woman will not be a part of the first three years of his new DCU, Gunn’s response to the fan inquiry was simply, “I hereby debunk it (because it’s not true).” That said, whether Gal Gadot will be playing the role is still a question mark.

There is also confusion about Ezra Miller’s continuation as the Flash in the future of DC, as it was recently reported that Miller will still be involved in projects going forward, despite the actor’s various controversies. One fan asked Gunn if there was any truth to that, as well as the report that his slate of films will only run for three years. He replied, “I don’t know what’s out there about Ezra but our slate is 8 to 10 years (but we will only be announcing some of it this month).”

Fans have been vocal about their displeasure with the Snyder universe getting completely rebooted. There are still a few projects, such as Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, that are on deck as well as The Flash and the recent tease of Blue Beetle with a poster. Shazam‘s Zachary Levi assures fans that he’s not being recast and is one of the few that came to the defense of Gunn and CEO partner, Peter Safran, asking fans for patience as they get this whole situation sorted out and wait until some concrete announcements are made.
