M3GAN clip finds bully in for an ear-twisting lesson on manners

M3GAN has taken the internet by storm, with that creepy artificial intelligence doll capturing the hearts of many… just don’t get on her bad side. Universal Pictures has released a new M3GAN clip which finds the doll giving a bully a lesson in manners with painful results. Check it out above!

M3GAN is a marvel of artificial intelligence, a life-like doll programmed to be a child’s greatest companion and a parent’s greatest ally,” reads the official synopsis. “Designed by brilliant toy-company roboticist Gemma, M3GAN can listen and watch and learn as she becomes friend and teacher, playmate and protector, for the child she is bonded to. When Gemma suddenly becomes the caretaker of her orphaned 8-year-old niece, Cady, Gemma’s unsure and unprepared to be a parent. Under intense pressure at work, Gemma decides to pair her M3GAN prototype with Cady in an attempt to resolve both problems—a decision that will have unimaginable consequences.” The film stars Allison Williams (Get Out), Violet McGraw (The Haunting of Hill House), Ronny Chieng (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), Brian Jordan Alvarez (Will & Grace), Jen Van Epps (Cowboy Bebop), Lori Dungey (The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring Extended Edition) and Stephane Garneau-Monten (Straight Forward).

The upcoming horror film was directed by Gerard Johnston (Housebound) from a screenplay by Akela Cooper (Malignant) based on a story by Cooper and James Wan. It’s been reported that the studio is so pleased with how the movie has turned out, not to mention how popular the trailer has become, that there they are already in talks for a potential sequel. James Wan wouldn’t confirm that while speaking with THR, but it sounds as if there is more story that could be told if the first movie is successful. “Well, my answer to that is I am very superstitious, and I don’t like to talk about sequels before the first film is even out,” Wan said. “But like any of the movies I make, I always think of a bigger world. I don’t just think of that one story; I think of the bigger world. So if we’re fortunate enough to tell any other stories, we can pull from the bigger world.

M3GAN will hit theaters on January 6, 2023. What did you think of the new M3GAN clip?
