Daredevil: Born Again: Margarita Levieva & Sandrine Holt join cast of Disney+ series

It still feels a little surreal that not only has Charlie Cox returned as Daredevil in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but that we’re getting a whole new series with Daredevil: Born Again. Deadline announced today that Margarita Levieva (The Deuce) and Sandrine Holt (American Gigolo) have joined the cast of Daredevil: Born Again in what are said to be major roles.

As you might have guessed, exactly who Margarita Levieva and Sandrine Holt are playing in Daredevil: Born Again is being kept under wraps, but Deadline hears that they’ll be playing love interests for the leads. In addition to Charlie Cox, Daredevil: Born Again will also feature the return of Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin. Michael Gandolfini (The Many Saints of Newark) also recently joined the cast of Daredevil: Born Again. Margarita Levieva starred in all three seasons of HBO’s The Deuce and also appeared in How to Make it In America, Revenge, The Blacklist, and Netflix’s In From the Cold. She’s also set to make a guest appearance on The Acolyte, Lucasfilm’s upcoming Star Wars series for Disney+. Sandrine Holt has been featured on Better Call Saul, The Expanse, Homeland, House of Cards, MacGyver, and more.

Daredevil: Born Again is written and executive produced by Matt Corman and Chris Ord and will consist of eighteen episodes. After several years of rumours following the cancellation of Netflix’s Daredevil series, Charlie Cox made the leap to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Spider-Man: No Way Home. He also suited up for She-Hulk and is expected to make an appearance in the upcoming Echo series as well. As for Vincent D’Onofrio, he returned for Hawkeye and will also appear in Echo.

Charlie Cox has said that he was “really emotional” reprising Daredevil for She-Hulk, but had a blast working with Tatiana Maslany. “I had a really fun time with Tatiana, and the chemistry between those two characters, the back and forth, was so much fun,” Cox said. “We got to see a new side of Matt Murdock, a side of him where he’s kind of enjoying his role and having fun and flirting.” Maslany has also expressed an interest in making an appearance on Daredevil: Born Again, which would certainly make sense given where She-Hulk left the two characters. Daredevil: Born Again will debut on Disney+ in 2024.
