Fresh off starring in the psychological thriller Don’t Worry, Darling, which was directed by her co-star Olivia Wilde, Florence Pugh has now signed on to star in the psychological thriller The Pack, which will be directed by her co-star Alexander Skarsgard. Deadline reports that The Pack will begin filming in March.
Scripted by Rose Gilroy, the film will tell the story of a group of documentarians who brave the remote wilderness of Alaska in an effort to save a nearly extinct species of wolves. When the crew is brought back together at a prestigious awards ceremony, tensions flare as a deadly truth threatens to unravel their work. The team lived through the harsh elements of the wild but will a secret they share survive the night?
That’s all the information they’re giving away so far, but it’s a very intriguing place to start. Pugh and Skarsgard appear to be the only cast members attached at this time.
Jennifer Fox is producing The Pack, with 30West financing and executive producing. The project is going to be presented to potential buyers at the upcoming American Film Market.
I became a fan of Pugh’s work by watching the movie Fighting with My Family, and I’ve been glad to see her branch out into horror (Midsommar), thrillers, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe (Black Widow, Hawkeye, the upcoming movie Thunderbolts) since. I’m less familiar with Skarsgard’s work, but I liked what he did as the villain in the Stephen King mini-series The Stand. (I still need to get around to watching The Northman.) I’m looking forward to seeing how The Pack is going to turn out – and just how thrilling it’s going to get.
