Interview: She-Hulk director Kat Coiro talks about trolls, Daredevil, Season 2 and more

The latest MCU series has now come to a close with the ninth episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. After trolls began trashing the series from the first trailer, series creator Jessica Gao and director/producer Kat Coiro were confident that the series would find an audience. With the longest run of episodes yet, She-Hulk upended all expectations with its finale which showcased new characters, new directions for the MCU, and one of the most surprising twists Marvel Studios has had yet.

It should go without saying that She-Hulk both plays into and upends expectations from the MCU thus far and thanks to Coiro, Gao, and star Tatiana Maslany, we now have a lot of new potential in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With the reveal of K.E.V.I.N. to the debut of Hulk’s son Skaar, we have a lot of stuff to talk about and get excited about in the years to come.

I got the chance to talk with Kat Coiro the day after the season finale of She-Hulk and we talked about the trolls, the risks taken in the finale, the introduction of Daredevil to the MCU, and what may be in store for a second season…or if it is even official yet.
