The Arrow in the Head Show looks back at Halloween 5: is it a trick or a treat?

Today is all about divisive entries in the Halloween franchise – and there are plenty of them to discuss! We’ve got Halloween Ends in theatres and on the Peacock streaming service (read our review HERE), Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers is the subject of our latest Black Sheep video (watch that at THIS LINK), and in the new episode of The Arrow in the Head Show our hosts are looking back at Halloween 5 (watch it HERE), which was released back in 1989. Directed by Dominique Othenin-Girard from a screenplay he wrote with Michael Jacobs (with Shem Bitterman also receiving credit for writing a previous draft), Halloween 5 has the following synopsis:

After lying in a coma for a year, Michael Myers awakens and stalks his way back to his small hometown in Illinois, intent on killing his niece, Jamie, who has been confined to a mental institution since Michael’s last attempt to slay her. Suspecting a psychic link between Michael and Jamie, psychiatrist Dr. Sam Loomis joins forces with Sheriff Ben Meeker and attempts to stop Michael’s latest rampage.

The film stars Donald Pleasence, Danielle Harris, Beau Starr, Wendy Kaplan, Ellie Cornell, Tamara Glynn, Jeffrey Landman, Jonathan Chapin, Matthew Walker, Troy Evans, Frank Como, and David Ursin, with Don Shanks as Michael Myers (and the Man in Black).

We’re trying something a bit new here on Arrow In The Head. After many years behind the scenes, we’ve decided to take our sarcastic, booze-influenced style into the video age with The Arrow In The Head Show! Hosted by John Fallon aka The Arrow and Lance Vlcek, we will dig into not only the newest horror flicks hitting the big and small screens but also delve into the good, bad, and ugly of horror from the golden ages of the ’80s through the underrated 90s and maybe a bit beyond.

Something groovy and a tad rough around the edges, we are here to talk shop with a drink in hand, a bit of foul language, and a whole lot of heart.

The Halloween 5 episode of the show was Edited by Lance, and it was Written by Lance and John.
