Deadpool 3: Hugh Jackman posts a sweaty workout photo as he trains to play Wolverine again

Hugh Jackman is out here getting sweaty for the camera to bring some thirst to your Friday afternoon. The 53-year-old actor is busy hitting the gym to prepare for his return as Wolverine in Marvel‘s Deadpool 3, and he’s proud of his progress. Jackman posted a photo to Instagram showing himself in gray sweat pants with a matching shirt that says “Squad” across the chest. Jackman’s juices saturate the shirt. You could wring it out and start a cloning program.

Deadpool 3 will be Jackman’s tenth turn playing James Howlett, a character he’s become synonymous with for most of his career. What this means for Wolverine becoming a featured character in the MCU when Marvel eventually gets around to making X-Men movies is anyone’s guess. The only thing we know for sure is Reynolds and Jackman getting together for a big-screen bromance is some of the most excellent news we’ve heard this year.

In a series of videos, Reynolds and Jackman announced their plans for Deadpool 3 via social media earlier this week. The first video featured a ponderous and vulnerable Reynolds admitting he was tapped for ideas about Deadpool 3 before revealing that Jackman would be coming back as Wolverine. The news sent shockwaves throughout the Hollywood community, and fans of the dynamic duo haven’t quieted down since the announcement. I’m freaking out about it too. Movie news doesn’t typically hit me very hard (a byproduct of the job, I guess), but my body is ready for Jack Attack to join Reynolds for a superhero team-up we’ve always wanted to see.

What do you think of Jackman’s gym progress so far? Not too shabby for a 53-year-old legend, eh? Are you excited about Deadpool 3? Do you think Wade and Logan will battle against a familiar foe? Whoever could it be? Let’s see your predictions in the comments.
