Halloween Ends: new John Carpenter score track and Boy Harsher remix now online

Two weeks ago, we shared the news that a digital release of the Halloween Ends score composed by John Carpenter, Cody Carpenter, and Daniel Davies was available for pre-order at THIS LINK. The digital version of the score will be released on the same day as the film, October 14th, and a physical release will follow on January 20th. (A couple versions of the vinyl release are only available on the Sacred Bones Records website.) It was also mentioned that the electronic music group Boy Harsher has contributed a track called “Burn It Down” to Halloween Ends, with Sacred Bones and Boys Harsher’s imprint Nude Club teaming up to release a maxi single that will feature four different versions of “Burn It Down”. At the time, a Carpenter/Davies track called “The Procession” and the regular version of “Burn It Down” were available to listen to. Now another score track called “The Junk Yard” and a remix / “Rework” of “Burn It Down” have arrived online, and you can listen to those in the embeds at the bottom of this article.

Boy Harsher feels that “Burn It Down” has “the perfect energy for the bittersweet love affair between Allyson and Corey”.

David Gordon Green directed Halloween Ends from a screenplay he wrote with Danny McBride, Paul Brad Logan, and Chris Bernier. Jamie Lee Curtis reprises her iconic role of Laurie Strode, and is joined in the cast by Andi Matichak as Laurie’s granddaughter Allyson, Kyle Richards as Lindsey Wallace, Will Patton as Officer Frank Hawkins, and Michael O’Leary as Doctor Mathis. James Jude Courtney reprises the role of Michael Myers, and original Michael Myers performer Nick Castle will also make a cameo appearance.

Here’s the official synopsis for Halloween Ends:

Four years after the events of last year’s Halloween Kills, Laurie is living with her granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) and is finishing writing her memoir. Michael Myers hasn’t been seen since. Laurie, after allowing the specter of Michael to determine and drive her reality for decades, has decided to liberate herself from fear and rage and embrace life. But when a young man, Corey Cunningham (Rohan Campbell; The Hardy BoysVirgin River), is accused of killing a boy he was babysitting, it ignites a cascade of violence and terror that will force Laurie to finally confront the evil she can’t control, once and for all.
