I am a fan of Resident Evil. The games are creepy fun – although I don’t play much – and dammit, I enjoyed the Milla Jovovich flicks for what they were. However, I was skeptical about what an eight episodes series would be like. And then I had the opportunity to see the first two episodes rather early and I was intrigued. And now, after completing the first season, I fell for it on many levels. As much as I adored what Jovovich brought, I appreciated the new leads. With two different timelines, both Ella Balinska and Tamara Smart are terrific as the older and younger Jade Wexler. And the same can be said about both Adeline Rudolph and Siena Agudong. While this is quite different from what has come before, I for one was entertained (although our TV critic was less enthusiastic).
One of the stars of Resident Evil is the lovely and talented Ella Balinska. I’ll never forget seeing her impressive performance in the Blumhouse thriller, Run Sweetheart, Run. And I was even more impressed with what she did here as Jade Wexler. The actress opened up about getting involved with the series and how she approached the character. Frankly, I was especially entertained by both Jade and Billie – the young and older versions. And as a fan of this series, I’m excited to see a very different take on the T-virus terror. Are you planning on checking out Resident Evil on Netflix this Friday? If you are a fan of the games, or even the movies, it’s definitely worth joining in the flesh eating fun. Hell, it may even attract new fans that relish a little bit of family drama in their frights.
