Fans of the hit comedy Scrubs may have a reason to celebrate as, according to creator Bill Lawrence, a revival is going to happen but one of the series’ stars, Donald Faison, thinks a movie would work best, per Deadline.

Scrubs had a panel at the ATX TV Festival on Sunday and in attendance were creator Bill Lawrence and series stars Zach Braff, Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, John C. McGinley, Judy Reyes, and Neil Flynn. During the panel, Lawrence said, “We’re all so grateful any of you still care, it gives us an excuse to hang out together. We are happy to spend time with each other in any way.” This is when the question of a reboot or revival was brought up and here is what Donald Faison had to say:

“Here’s the deal: I think we all want a reboot and want to work together again but it couldn’t be a full season. Maybe like a movie or something we could shoot in a few months. With everything Bill is doing now, he’s never going to be free again. If he finds the time, we’ll do it.”

Apparently, Bill Lawrence, who is currently working on Ted Lasso, thinks he does have the time because he responded by saying, “We’re gonna do it because people still care about it and we enjoy spending time with each other.” So, there you have it. Everyone seems game for some kind of reunion and it looks like the wheels are turning to make it happen.

Scrubs ran for nine seasons and 182 episodes during its initial run. The series followed the lives of employees at the fictional Sacred Heart Hospital and the title is a play on surgical scrubs and a term for a low-ranking person because, at the start of the series, most of the main characters are medical interns. The series received a Peabody Award in 2006 and was a consistent fan favorite during its entire run.

Would YOU want to see a revival of Scrubs?
