Blood in the Water trailer: Saw meets Jaws in upcoming shark thriller

If you watch the trailer for the upcoming thriller Blood in the Water that’s embedded above, it will be obvious to you that director Dominic Nutter (Jurassic Island) and screenwriters Matthew B.C. (Medusa) and Dominic Ellis (Jurassic Island) came up with this movie by blending shark thrills with a scenario that would be right at home in a Saw movie. They’re not shying away from stating their influences, either. The tagline for Blood in the Water is simply “Saw meets Jaws“. And if that sounds like an appealing mash-up to you, you might be glad to hear that Amazon is already accepting pre-orders for the DVD release of Blood in the Water (pick up a copy HERE), which will be available on June 14th.

Blood in the Water has the following synopsis:

Zara is a young woman with a dark secret. She spends her days obsessing over the details of her husband’s imprisonment, and the woman that he allegedly killed. But this is abruptly interrupted by a masked sociopath who breaks into her flat, knocks her out and chains her up to a swimming pool along with five strangers. Soon, they realize they are not alone as the final member of the congregation is revealed: a terrifying Great White Shark. The game of the unseen sociopath then becomes clear as each of them are chosen to be dragged into the pool to become shark food.

The film stars Hannah Ponting (The Candy Witch), Jamie Robertson (Beneath the Surface), Andrew Rolfe (Dragon Fury), Amanda-Jade Tyler (The Mutation), Georgie Banks (The Mermaid’s Curse), Michael Hoad (Wrath of Van Helsing), Brendan Jones (Snap Shot), Lewis Sycamore (HellKat), and Faith Kiggundu (Exorcist Vengeance).

Blood in the Water was produced by Scott Jeffrey and Rebecca Matthews.
