Dark Sky Films is giving the vampire comedy Let the Wrong One In a theatrical and digital release today, and to celebrate the release of the film we’ve gotten our hands on a fun EXCLUSIVE clip that shows Anthony Stewart Head – best known for playing Giles on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV series – once again having to deal with a bloodsucker. Check it out in the embed above!
Written and directed by Conor McMahon, who previously brought us the killer clown slasher Stitches (which also got April Fool’s Day screenings courtesy of Dark Sky), Let the Wrong One In follows
young supermarket worker Matt, who is a little too nice for his own good. When he discovers that his older, estranged brother Deco has turned into a vampire, he’s faced with a dilemma: Will he risk his own life to help his sibling, with blood being thicker than water? Or will he stake him before he spreads the infection further?
Head’s character is “a taxi driver with a sideline in vampire hunting.” He is joined in the cast of this “raucous and hilarious horror-comedy” by Karl Rice (Sing Street), Eoin Duffy (Deadly Cuts), Hilda Fay (Float Like a Butterfly), David Pearse (Grabbers), Mary Murray (The Magdalene Sisters), Louise McCann (Dublin Crust), Jordan Lennon (The Professor and the Madman), Louise Bourke (Who We Love), and newcomer Lisa Haskins.
A press release says “Let the Wrong One In takes vampire cinema into unruly new directions while also honoring its classic tropes and charms.”
Let the Wrong One In is a co-production between Tailored Films (The Lodgers) and Workshed Films (From the Dark), and is financed by Screen Ireland, MPI Media Group, and The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland, in association with RTE. The producers are Trisha Flood, Ruth Treacy, Julianne Forde, and Michael Lavelle.
