DC is betting big on James Gunn by wooing him onto several projects currently in the works. We already know that Gunn is bringing another season of Peacemaker to HBO Max and that he could have another Suicide Squad spinoff in the works. He’s also back at Marvel to helm Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but does he have another DC project in the pipeline? According to Gunn, that’s exactly the case.

While appearing on Neil Vagg’s podcast to promote Peacemaker‘s UK debut, Gunn referenced another project he has in development at DC. Before Gunn dropped this intriguing tidbit, he spoke about the season finale of Peacemaker, along with the anti-hero’s relationship with Emilia Harcourt (Jennifer Holland) and Robert Patrick‘s villainous Auggie Smith. “I know where it goes emotionally and we’re figuring out the plot stuff,” Gunn said about approaching the second season of the show. “Frankly, I’m working on another DC thing, and maybe another one. So we’ve got a couple of different things we’re trying to balance with the story.”

Gunn and Warner Bros. have yet to confirm if the filmmaker’s second television project is a spinoff of Peacemaker or The Suicide Squad. Previously, it was believed that the show would involve an existing member of Task Force X, but that no longer appears to be the case. “You know, we’re stepping forward. It keeps happening. We’ll see what’s happening, and I’ll know what’s happening very shortly. I dealt with it last night and this morning,” Gunn told Collider.

For now, it’s anyone’s guess as to what else Gunn is working on for DC. It’s likely that these new projects will be announced in time for this year’s DC Fandome, assuming the fan-focused streaming event happens again later this year. With another season of Peacemaker confirmed, and two mystery projects currently in development, Gunn looks to have a cushy spot at DC for years to come.

What DC property would you like to see James Gunn get his hands on? Justice League Dark perhaps? A Constantine revival? Something more obscure? Give us a shout in the comments section below with your suggestions.
