Chucky season 2: Don Mancini shares a logo for the new season, coming this year

The day before the season 1 finale of the Chucky TV series aired, it was announced that the Syfy / USA Network show will be getting a second season. The announcement indicated that Chucky season 2 will begin airing sometime in 2022, and now series creator Don Mancini has taken to social media to unveil a logo for the season that confirms it’s still on track to debut this year. This is great news, because season 1 (which you can now buy on physical media) ended with a cliffhanger that we need to see the resolution to as soon as possible.

A follow-up to all of the Child’s Play movies (remake excluded), Chucky picks up where Cult of Chucky left off. Mancini, who has written every Child’s Play film (except that remake) and directed a few of them, developed Chucky with producer David Kirschner. Mancini and Kirschner are executive producing Chucky with Harley Peyton, Alex Hedlund, and Nick Antosca. Mancini also directed the first episode. The show’s synopsis:

After a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies and allies from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll’s untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.

The first season of Chucky starred Zackary Arthur, Fiona Dourif, Jennifer Tilly, Devon Sawa, Alex Vincent, Christine Elise, Bjorgvin Arnarson, Jacob Breedon, Lexa Doig, Teo Briones, Alyvia Alyn Lind, Lind’s real-life mother Barbara Alyn Woods, and David Kohlsmith. And yes, Brad Dourif provided the voice of Chucky.
