Fresh off of starring in the horror comedy The Manson Brothers Midnight Zombie Massacre, a movie we’re big fans of here at Arrow in the Head (you can read The Iceman’s 8/10 review at THIS LINK), UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture has signed on to star in the horror action film The Bell Keeper. Deadline reports that Couture is being joined in the cast by Reid Miller (Joe Bell), Mike Manning (This Is Us), Kathleen Kenny (The Sex Lives of College Girls), and Cathy Marks (The Young and the Restless).
Colton Tran, who recently wrapped a horror project titled Snow Falls, will be directing The Bell Keeper. The film will tell the story of
a group of friends who travel to a secluded campsite to film a documentary. What they find is something much more sinister than they could have ever imagined.
Artisha Mann-Cooper, Nick Theurer, and Jonathan Cooper are producing, with Jeffrey Reddick and Martin Ngongo serving as executive producers. Reddick is a genre regular who came up with the original concept for Final Destination. Since then, he has written Return to Cabin by the Lake, Final Destination 2, Tamara, the 2008 remake of Day of the Dead, Dead Awake, The Final Wish, and Don’t Look Back (which he directed). He was also a story editor on the show Midnight, Texas and wrote episodes of the animated series A Tale Dark & Grimm.
As for Couture, he has over 40 acting credits to his name, but outside of his UFC fights he’s probably best known for playing the role of Toll Road in all three of the Expendables movies – and he’ll be seen playing that character again in the recently wrapped The Expendables 4.
The synopsis for The Bell Keeper doesn’t give us much to go on at this point, but it has our attention with the involvement of Reddick and the promise of Couture action in this horror movie.
