Obi-Wan Kenobi series will reportedly premiere on Disney+ in May

Obi-Wan Kenobi, premiere, Star Wars, Disney+, Ewan McGregor

With The Book of Boba Fett set to conclude next week, fans are starting to look towards the next Star Wars series Disney+ has to offer. That particular series is rather highly-anticipated as it features the return of Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. But just when will the Obi-Wan Kenobi series premiere on Disney+? We may have the answer.

Based on a since-deleted tweet from a Disney+ executive, rumours began swirling earlier this week that the Obi-Wan Kenobi series would premiere on Disney+ in May. Lucasfilm hasn’t addressed it, but THR’s Heat Vision newsletter states that their own sources have corroborated the rumour, but added that “it’s not official until it’s official.” If I had to guess, I would imagine that the Obi-Wan Kenobi series would premiere on Disney+ on May 4th — Star Wars Day for those keeping track — which just so happens to be a Wednesday. Time will tell.

The only real glimpse we’ve had of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series so far has been a sizzle reel released on Disney+ last year. Among the goodies teased in that video was a possible rematch between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader, which would certainly be something to see.

In addition to Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen, the Obi-Wan Kenobi series will also star Kumail Nanjiani (Eternals), Moses Ingram (The Queen’s Gambit), Joel Edgerton (Boy Erased), Sung Kang (F9), Bonnie Piesse (The Vow), Kumail Nanjiani (Eternals), Indira Varma (Game of Thrones), Rupert Friend (Homeland), O’Shea Jackson Jr. (Straight Outta Compton), Simone Kessell (Reckoning), and Benny Safdie (Uncut Gems). The finale of The Book of Boba Fett will debut on Disney+ on February 9th, and judging by the most recent episodes, it should bring plenty of surprises along with it. What, or whom, are you hoping to see in the Boba Fett finale?
