It seems like we never have to wait very long before another horror movie with Tony Todd (Candyman) in the cast comes along, and we have a new one to look forward to next month: the alien invasion film The Changed is set to receive a theatrical and VOD release on March 4th, courtesy of Quiver Distribution. In anticipation of the release, a trailer for The Changed has arrived online and can be seen in the embed above.
Directed by Michael Mongillo (Being Michael Madsen) from a screenplay he wrote with Matt Giannini, The Changed has the following synopsis:
Something has taken possession of the hearts and minds of the populace. Kim, Mac, and Jane try to convince themselves it’s paranoia, but before long the city is besieged by the changed. By the time they realize an alien intelligence has merged with their neighbor, Bill, a horde of changed is amassing outside their suburban home.”
Todd is playing neighbor Bill. He’s joined in the cast by Clare Foley (Sinister), Jason Alan Smith (Before I Wake), Carlee Avers (Veronica Mars), Doug Tompos (Aquarius), newcomer Olivia Freer, Kathy Searle (Love in Kilnerry), Nina Wisner (Glass), Margaret Rose Champagne (Troma’s Monster Kill), Ryan Barry McCarthy (The Wrong Guys for the Job), Madeleine Dauer (The Murder Pact), Erik Bloomquist (Night at the Eagle Inn), Dick Boland (Mark of the Beast), and Anthony Brown (All In: The Family).
If you like Invasion of the Body Snatchers-type movies, The Changed appears to be one to keep an eye out for, because the alien invasion scenario in the trailer is very reminiscent of the Body Snatchers films.
