Mid-Century: Stephen Lang, Bruce Dern star in supernatural thriller

Blue Fox Entertainment has acquired the international rights to director Sonja O’Hara’s supernatural thriller Mid-Century and will be presenting the project to potential distributors at the virtual European Film Market, Screen Daily reports. The presentation will include footage from the film, which stars Stephen Lang (Don’t Breathe) and Bruce Dern (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood).

Producer Mike Stern wrote the screenplay for Mid-Century, crafting a story that centers on

a vacationing couple in a haunted mid-century modern home.

Shane West (Gotham) and Chelsea Gilligan (Door to the Other Side) play that couple, with Lang taking on the role of “the occult-obsessed architect who haunts his masterpieces long after a grisly death”. Dern’s character is “Lang’s mentor in the supernatural realm”, while Sarah Hay (Flesh and Bone) plays “a housewife forever trapped in her home after her untimely demise”. Vanessa Estelle Williams (Candyman), Annapurna Sriram (The Blacklist), and Jon “Dumbfoundead” Park (Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens) are also in the cast.

Mid-Century is an Astral Plane production, in association with Moo Studios and Slated. Lang and West serve as executive producers alongside Jen Russo, Ian Michaels, Jay Burnley, Stephan Paternot, Jeremy Walton, David Lyons, Morris Ruskin, Preston Bebas, and Melissa Bale. Anthony and James Gaudioso, C.I. Nwodim, and DJ Dodd are co-producers.

That’s all we know about this movie at this point, but this small amount of information is enough to get me interested. O’Hara is definitely working with a solid cast here: Stephen Lang haunting a place with Bruce Dern as his spiritual mentor? I have to see a movie that has that sort of craziness going on in it.
