Apple TV+ may not seem like a huge player in the streaming game but the platform has made a habit of picking up some high-profile film releases. This year they will grace us with Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon and it has just been announced that they have landed an Audrey Hepburn biopic from Oscar-nominated filmmaker Luca Guadagnino with two-time Oscar nominee Rooney Mara set to play the legendary actress.
Per “Deadline“, Mara will also produce the project while Michale Mitnick, who was an executive producer on the HBO series Vinyl, will serve as the screenwriter. This will be the third project that Mara has produced after the documentary The End of Medicine and The Truth About Emmanuel.
Audrey Hepburn was a legendary actress of style, substance, and talent that continues to be a staple of the essence of old Hollywood. Her first leading role was in 1953’s Roman Holiday which earned her an Oscar, a Golden Globe Award, and a BAFTA Award for her performance. Her other significant screen credits include Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Sabrina, Funny Face, Charade, and My Fair Lady. Hepburn was nominated for a total of five Academy Awards during her career.
Do YOU think Rooney Mara is the right choice to portray Audrey Hepburn?
