Street Fighter fan film pits Violent Ken against Balrog

A fan film inspired by the Street Fighter video game series was released through YouTube over the weekend, and we thought it was worthy of being shared here on Arrow in the Head. A bloody, violent take on the Street Fighter concept, the short is called Street Fighter: Psychosis, and was written and directed by Stanton Chong from a story by Sean Kohnke. Check it out in the embed above!

The main game characters featured in the short are Violent Ken and Balrog, but several more make an appearance during the short’s 13-minute running time.

Since this is a fan film that is “in no way affiliated with Capcom or endorsed by the Street Fighter franchise”, the filmmakers can’t profit off of it – but if they were to make an original film they could profit off of and filled it with the same sort of fight scenes and bloodshed they put into Street Fighter: Psychosis, I would be hyped to check it out.

Produced by Keyon Slowly, Street Fighter: Psychosis stars Ian Rozylo as Ken Masters / Violent Ken, Marshall Bingham as Balrog, Gigi Neil as Eliza, Darren E. Scott as Ryu, Kelvin Lum as Master Gouken, Nick Baric as Head Shadaloo Guard, Darryl King as Shadaloo Scientist, Aidan Pringle as M. Bison, A. Fraser as Sagat, Shota Tsuji as Vega, Leifennie as Chun Li, Sean Kohnke as Guile, Ghassemi as Dan, Yu Matsushita as Sakura, Tim Townley as Homeless Man, and Shaw Madson and Anthony Bailey as Body Guards.

After you watch the short, leave a comment below to let us know what you thought of Street Fighter: Psychosis. Would you like to see an original action movie like this from Stanton Chong and his cast, crew, and stunt team? Would you like to see a feature-length Street Fighter movie done in this style?

I definitely like this 13 minute short better than the Street Fighter movie we got back in 1994. You can hear all about that one in the video embedded below:
