Chucky TV series promo gives a preview of season 1 finale

It was officially announced yesterday that the Chucky TV series will be getting a second season – but before we can start looking forward to that, we still have to see the season 1 finale! The eighth and final episode of the first season will be airing on Syfy and USA Network tonight at 10pm Eastern, and a promo embedded above gives a preview of the finale. That promo is followed by a couple clips from the show.

A follow-up to all of the Child’s Play movies (remake excluded), Chucky picks up where Cult of Chucky left off. Don Mancini, who has written every Child’s Play film (except that remake) and directed a few of them, developed Chucky with producer David Kirschner. Mancini and Kirschner are executive producing Chucky with Harley Peyton, Alex Hedlund, and Nick Antosca. Mancini also directed the first episode. The show’s synopsis:

After a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies and allies from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll’s untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.

The cast of Chucky includes Zackary Arthur, Jennifer Tilly, Fiona Dourif, Devon Sawa, Alex Vincent, Christine Elise, Bjorgvin Arnarson, Jacob Breedon, Lexa Doig, Teo Briones, Alyvia Alyn Lind, Lind’s real-life mother Barbara Alyn Woods, and David Kohlsmith. And yes, Brad Dourif has again provided the voice of Chucky.

After the finale airs tonight, all eight episodes of Chucky will be available to watch on the Peacock streaming service as of tomorrow, December 1st.

Also after the finale airs, I’m going to catch up on all eight episodes by having a marathon with friends.
