Devon Sawa was very recently seen in both the Chucky TV series and the horror comedy Black Friday (where he shares the screen with Bruce Campbell and Michael Jai White), and during a recent interview with Bloody Disgusting‘s The Boo Crew Podcast he revealed that he has wrapped production on another horror project, one that’s coming our way from “the makers of Texas Chainsaw Massacre“.
Here’s what Sawa had to say about the project:
It’s basically about… it’s the makers of Texas Chainsaw Massacre… some of the makers, there’s a lot of makers of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, I’ve learned. My character is out in the woods, kidnapping hikers, killing them and rotting their bodies to feed to this monster. And I pick up a couple of hikers… it’s just the three of us in this bunker. It’s got a very psychological… my guy’s almost like a Kurtz character in Apocalypse Now… he’s gone a little bit kooky and it’s really cool. It’s a cool project.”
It will be interesting to see which makers of which Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie are behind this mystery project. Regardless of who they happen to be, the idea of Devon Sawa capturing hikers so he can feed them to a monster is enough to get me interested in checking this movie out when it gets released.
We’ll keep you updated on this project as more information is revealed. I’m anxious to hear more details myself.
Other genre credits Sawa has racked up over the years include Idle Hands, Final Destination, The Fanatic, and Hunter Hunter.
