Ghostbusters: Afterlife – Paul Rudd & Carrie Coon Interviews!

Paul Rudd doesn’t age. Let’s get that out of the way first. Other people age, but the newly minted “sexiest man alive” just doesn’t. So, I was psyched to talk to Rudd, as well as his mega-talented co-star Carrie Coon about Ghostbusters: Afterlife, in which they hold up the adult contingent in this sequel/soft reboot.

Rudd plays star Mckenna Grace’s very chill science teacher, Greg Grooberson, whose idea of summer school is showing the kids Cujo while he naps in the backroom. However, when Grace’s Phoebe brings a legit ghost trap to class, his inner Ghostbusters fanboy is unleashed. Rudd, as always, is a joy to talk to – as you’ll see from the goofy grin I had on my face the whole time I was talking to him.

That said, I do absolutely love Carrie Coon, as I was surprised by how down-to-earth, kind and funny she wound up being in the interview, as I must admit I know her mostly from heavy-duty dramatic roles in movies like The Nest and Gone Girl. It turns out she’s a huge Ghostbusters fan from back in the day and was super excited to be playing the mother of Phoebe and Finn Wolfhard’s Trevor. She also has a nice little romance (in the film!) going on with Rudd’s character. While watching the movie this weekend, make sure to watch out for a cameo from Coon’s genius-level playwright husband, Tracy Letts (the writer of Killer Joe!).

I really enjoyed doing this interview, and I hope you all liked watching it! Everyone involved seems so excited about the film, and hopefully fans dig it when they get a chance to check it out for themselves. Ghostbusters: Afterlife opens in theatres this Friday!
