The Expendables 4, Jason Statham, Iko Uwais

Like many of you, I was blown away by Iko Uwais’ work in The Raid. Since then, I’ve made it a point to check out every project of us that I could, and his next will see him joining Sylvester Stallone’s Expendables franchise. It was reported last week that Iko Uwais would be playing the main villain of Expendables 4 and Jason Statham has dropped a handful of photos on Instagram of the pair facing off in the upcoming sequel.

A real honour to spend some screen time with the incredibly talented [Iko Uwais],” Jason Statham wrote on Instagram. “A true master of his game and a powerhouse of speed and skills that take a lifetime to achieve. Massive respect for all that you do brother.” Although the plot of The Expendables 4 is still being kept under wraps, it’s said that Iko Uwais will play a “former military officer turned arms dealer with his own private army.

The Expendables 4 will feature Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Megan Fox, Tony Jaa, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, and Andy Garcia. The film is being directed by Scott Waugh from a screenplay by Spenser Cohen with revisions by Max Adams and John Joseph Connolly. Production on the Expendables sequel is ongoing, but Sylvester Stallone recently announced that he had completed work on the film and was “ready to pass the baton on to Jason [Statham] and his capable hands.” Although Stallone may be done with The Expendables franchise, he did tease that he’s “getting ready to accept the next challenge.“ Iko Uwais was recently seen in Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins as Hard Master and also has Wu Assassins: Fistful of Vengeance for Netflix on the way, a follow up to the Wu Assassins series.
