Mytheries: Halloween Legends episode looks into the origins of the holiday

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Halloween is the favorite holiday of many a horror fan, including myself, and in the new episode of our Paranormal Network video series Mytheries we’re digging into the beliefs, myths, and legends that have shaped this beloved holiday. The episode, titled Halloween Legends, can be viewed in the embed above.

Of course, it’s difficult to talk about Halloween without also covering the Halloween film franchise, and this video explores how the holiday’s roots have been referenced in Halloween sequels (especially Halloween III: Season of the Witch) and the novelization of the original film. Want to know about the real-life “Candyman” who helped intensify worries of Halloween candies being tampered with? That’s in there, too.

So get in the holiday spirit and check it out!

Episodes of the Mytheries series

showcase various myths and mysteries from around the world and shine the light on incidents that have rocked history and can still not be explained.  Each episode will be about a creature/myth/or in some cases people that are connected to it.  To this day the creepiest thing about vampires is the fact that basically every culture in the world has a vampire myth but they never communicated to each other…so how did they know about them too?  This is the place where Myth and Mystery combine.

The Halloween Legends episode was Written and Narrated by Jessica Dwyer, Edited by Zakk Denton, Produced by Jason Hewlett, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.

Episodes of Mytheries that delved into the legends of the Fouke Monster, the Loch Ness Monster, and Atlantis can be seen below. To see more episodes, and to check out the other shows The Paranormal Network has to offer, head over to the YouTube channel – and subscribe while you’re there! We have shows that deal with UFOs, hauntings, Bigfoot and other cryptids, and more.
