Death Rider in the House of Vampires: Danzig film reaches theatres tomorrow

Last month, we learned that Death Rider in the House of Vampires, the second feature directorial effort from musician Glenn Danzig (following the infamous 2019 horror anthology Verotika – watch it HERE), would be arriving in select theatres across the U.S. on August 27th. Death Rider will actually be reaching more than 200 screens tomorrow, and if you head over to the film’s official website you can see the full list of participating theatres. You can also purchase your tickets, if you’d like to see this one on the big screen.

Scripted by Danzig, who also composed the score, Death Rider in the House of Vampires is a Spaghetti Western where every single character is a vampire. The story centers on

the Death Rider, who travels to the desert Vampire Sanctuary ruled by Count Holliday. The price of admission… one untouched virgin.

Here’s a longer synopsis:

Clad all in black, the mysterious “Death Rider” travels thru the desert on horseback. His destination… Vampire Sanctuary. The entrance fee… one Female Virgin. Once inside he encounters Count Holliday, Vampire Lord of Sanctuary who warns him against any transgressions.

Blood & guns action follow as Death Rider tangles with some of the Vampires of Sanctuary like the smouldering Carmilla Joe with her sidekick Mina Belle. And vampire gunslingers Drac Cassidy, Bad Bathory, Kid Vlad & Duke VonWayne.

The film was produced by James Cullen Bressack and stars Devon Sawa as the Death Rider, Julian Sands as Count Holliday, Kim Director as Carmilla Joe, Eli Roth as Drac Cassidy, Ashley Wisdom as Mina Belle, Victor DiMattia as Kid Vlad, Danny Trejo as Bela Latigo, and Danzig as vampire gunslinger Bad Bathory. The Wrap was told that the movie is also going to feature “lots of cool surprise cameos”.

Trying to watch Verotika proved to be a rather painful experience for me, so I don’t have high hopes for Death Rider in the House of Vampires. That said, the idea of a Spaghetti Western where every character is a bloodsucker is highly appealing to me, so I am going to have to check this movie out at some point.
