Netflix fan event coming to celebrate slate of upcoming shows, movies

Last Updated on August 27, 2021

Netflix is launching its own fan event entitled Tudum where they'll preview many films, shows, and other content coming to the streaming network

Mark your calendars for September 25th because Netflix is getting in on the fan event game.

That’s right, Netflix subscribers. Fashion your fanciest Stranger Things cosplay and get ready to celebrate more than 70 series, films, and specials coming to the streaming network. According to the event’s first star-studded promo, Tudum will feature first looks and interviews from some of today’s hottest stars. Oh, and yes. The name Tudum refers to the sound that accompanies the Netflix logo at the start of its programming. Pretty clever, eh?

Touted as the streamer’s “first-ever global fan event,” Tudum is likely to feature stars like Dwayne Johnson, Charlize Theron, Henry Cavill, Chris Hemsworth, Regina King, John Cho, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Adam Sandler, Idris Elba, Jason Bateman, and many more.

Tudum looks like it follows in the footsteps of events like WitcherCon and DC Fandome. By that, I mean that it’s a preview event tailored to raise awareness for upcoming offerings on the streamer. Plus, it’s an excuse to check out many of your favorite stars all under one roof. Everyone knows the pandemic has forced studios to become more competitive than ever, and Tudum sounds like a great way to get Netflix’s hype train operating at full speed.

Netflix’s Tudum takes place on September 25 and will be broadcast across Netflix’s YouTube channels, Twitter, and Twitch. Be sure to bring some popcorn and a personal calendar so you can keep track of all the big announcements.
