There were three April Fool’s Day themed slasher movies released in 1986, the most overlooked of the bunch being Killer Party (watch it HERE). Whether you’re a fan of this bonkers movie or if you haven’t had the chance to see it yet, we have some good news to share today: Scream Factory has announced that they’re bringing Killer Party to Blu-ray on October 26th! Copies can be pre-ordered at THIS LINK.
Scream Factory notes that the extra features are “in progress” and will be announced at a later date. We’ll let you know when they reveal all of the details on this release.
Directed by William Fruet (Funeral Home) from a screenplay by Barney Cohen (Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter), Killer Party has the following synopsis:
YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED TO A PARTY TO DIE FOR!
It’s April Fool’s Day and the sisters of Sigma Alpha Pi believe they’ve found the perfect place to throw a party: the abandoned fraternity house where a guillotined pledge once lost his head in a hazing gone awry. But shortly after their revelry begins, the student body count starts to rise as the vengeful pledge returns from the grave and makes it a party to die for.
The film stars Elaine Wilkes, Sherry Willis-Burch, Alicia Fleer, Joanna Johnson, Terri Hawkes, Martin Hewitt, Ralph Seymour, and Paul Bartel.
The other ’86 April Fool’s Day movies were Slaughter High and, of course, April Fool’s Day. Killer Party may not be my favorite of the bunch (that would be the film that shares its name with the “holiday”), but I do enjoy it a lot. It’s a college campus slasher movie that was made in the ’80s and randomly starts with a music video sequence, what’s not to enjoy? I hope this Scream Factory release will be packed with cool extras.
