Once again the good doctor, Uwe Boll, is in the news. This time the news has no ill-advised punch lines at his expense but rather the word that Freestyle Releasing will be distributing Boll’s next three films.
Boll is a busy man, with POSTAL coming out later this September, and he also has SEED on the horizon. But it’s Boll’s other video-game adaptation, In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale, that has Freestyle excited, as Freestyle co-President Marke Borde had this to say: “Freestyle is really getting behind this picture,” Borde said. “We’ve hired support staff just to market this picture, and we plan on reaching out to both traditional media as well as video game media to take full advantage of the Microsoft ‘Dungeon Siege’ video game.”
Right now, Boll has a pretty good lineup of stars that are listed for ‘Dungeon Siege,’ as Jason Statham, Ray Liotta, Ron Perlman, Leelee Sobieski, John Rhys-Davies, Matthew Lillard and Burt Reynolds are slated to star. – Pretty surprising, right?
Not to try and jinx the man, but Boll’s comedy POSTAL is gathering some murmurs around the internet about how it’s surprisingly good. At this point, why not root for the guy?
