Romero wants remake?

It seems as though legendary zombie freak George Romero is getting a case of the “John Carpenter” disease that makes him want to see his movies remade. This time the filmmaker wants to see his film SEASON OF THE WITCH get remade. (It should be noted that Romero’s 1972 SEASON OF THE WITCH has nothing to do with the crappy third installment in the HALLOWEEN series).

As many of you know, Romero is no stranger to the remake epidemic, as NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD and DAWN OF THE DEAD have both been remade. But here is what Romero had to say regarding remaking SEASON OF THE WITCH: “I think it could be pertinent in a different way … There are still women’s issues and there are still jerky guys like [Joan Mitchell’s] husband, still brutal – to say nothing of being insensitive, but actually brutal – so I’d like to remake it.”
