Oh ecological disaster movie, why doesn’t anyone take you seriously? Well it seems ex-HEROES star Adrian Pasdar might be turning a little green next year as he plans to focus on just that.
It was just announced that the man who flies will be getting dirty when he battles (depending on who he plays) some big ugly…plant stuff in yet another Syfy original that’s creatively named GARDEN OF EVIL. So this is what ex-HEROES stars are succumbing to these days? At least Hayden Panettiere is getting her SCRE4M on.
So I’m guessing you’re wondering if GARDEN OF EVIL has something to do with some fashion of demonic vegetation? Here’s the synopsis for you to weed through and guess for yourself: Militant environmentalists Kate and Joe witness, and videotape, the rapid growth of a gigantic root system that literally begins mowing through the country like an earthquake. At the same time, government agent Jack Taylor contacts plant expert Jocelyn Snow, who discovers that her ex-colleague, Frame Marcos, is the probable source of the ancient seed that started the whole ecological disaster. Under the growing threat of massive tsunamis should the enormous root system burrow under the ocean, Jack, Jocelyn, Joe and Kate confront Frame in his compound, then return to the place where it all began, with the hopes that Jocelyn can disable the embryonic root and bring the disaster to an end.
At this point it’s unclear whether or not Pasdar will be wielding a weed cutter as our hero or be made into compost by playing the villain. My two-cents: Why does he need the earth? The dude can fly! With that aside the film will be helmed by writer/director Paul Ziller (LOCH NESS TERROR, STONEHENGE APOCOLYPSE) and will be starring alongside Luisa D’Oliveira (PERCY JACKSON & THE LIGHTNING THIEF) and Daniel Bacon (TOXIC SKIES). Stay with us as we unearth more info on the film. GARDEN OF EVIL is set to premiere on Syfy sometime in 2011.
Wouldn’t you like to unearth this garden. Simonetta.
