Bob Hoskins and Willem Dafoe will fight aliens in Transmission!

Following the shadow of the new fad, another alien flick has just been announced but this one smells a bit different. No, that’s not the pungent smell of it failing at the Box Office. I smell a solid cast.

Moviehole has just received word that Bob Hoskins and Willem Dafoe have been set to star in the new alien flick Transmission. They will star alongside others including Jason Flemying and Talulah Riley. However, just like SKYLINE this movie will be about an invasion. The only difference about this particular story is that it’s set during an eclipse. Hmm, I wonder what else they could have titled it.

The film is being developed by Gold Films. Giles Alderson is penning the script with his long time partner Martin Pwen producing. The feature will be more of a British sci-fi than anything else. It will also be shot in 3D. So 3D has officially crossed the big pond eh? The film is described as “Pitch Black meets 28 Days Later .” Bold but enticing statement. Although we’ve got our hands in enough alien invasion/battle flicks already I’m always up for another one, especially if it’s got Bob Hoskins and Willem Dafoe.

Now here’s the kicker! Ready? The film probably be directed by Roger Christian. Who? If you don’t know already he’s the Oscar Winning Art Director of the original STAR WARS. Shazaam! So now we’ve got two great actors and others who are great to boot who are all under the direction of an award winning Art Director from the original STAR WARS? Now this is a sci-fi invasion flick! Now I’m psyched for this film. Do you guys feel the same or am I alone here?
