I’m all for the return of Frankenstein’s monster but I just don’t get going the indie route. Don’t get me wrong, the synopsis sounds more fun than a Vegas hooker but then again it sounds like it could cost just as much. Nothing much to go one until then but at least we can look at this new pic and some sweet details to kill the time.
The new pic is of Tim Krueger who plays The Monster, The Beast…whatever. From the looks of it Krueger seems to be brooding about something. Possibly sulking over on the idea of kidnapping poor Michelle Shields before she gets wedded off to her cousin? I would.
On the brighter side, it looks like FRANKENSTEIN 2011 or FRANKENSTEIN: THE DAY OF THE BEAST, is staying alive by the means of a nifty way of getting dinero called crowdfunding. Ricardo Islas (director) and his team are using social networking and the ol’ “we need your help” card for the project’s income. Check out the press release for more info on what you could get if you lent a helping hand:
Independent Filmmaker Ricardo Islas and his production team are taking advantage of the current social networking generation by funding their remake of the classic horror film Frankenstein. The team has already raised several thousand dollars by utilizing the indie fundraising website IndieGoGo. It’s called crowd funding, and it allows the audience to fund films with small donations. For a donation of only $10 you can get a DVD copy of the movie with a special introduction: a video taped message by one of our stars thanking contributors. It would be a unique edition that nobody else would have. And for a donation of $500 or more you would have the opportunity to be killed on camera by the Lovely Elizabeth. The scene would be edited and then added to the DVD as a special bonus feature. So, for a very small amount of money you can be a part of filmmaking history.
You can click here for more info on how to help out with the project. Even though FRANKENSTEIN 2011 pretty much told you everything you needed to know, it’s always good to know just a bit more. Read the full synopsis to get “in depth” with the new twist on the iconic story:
On a foggy winter morning, a raft brings a priest to an isolated island. He is getting paid to perform a wedding ritual under very mysterious conditions. The groom is Victor Frankenstein, and the young and beautiful bride is his cousin Elizabeth. Seven armed and dangerous mercenary soldiers have been hired to protect her against something huge that hides in the woods, awaiting for that wedding night to be consummated. Victor is the only one who knows the truth about their enemy. His secret will be paid with the life of his private army, whose men will die one by one, as the creature gets closer to his target: the bride. Old style Hammer type of movie, but action packed ala Predator, this is a take on Frankenstein you have never seen and will never forget.
The flick stars Adam Stephenson as Victor Frankenstein, Michelle Shields as Elizabeth and Tim Krueger as The Monster. Drake Mefestta will play the role of Kirk one of the seven mercenary soldiers who will do battle with the beast near the end of the film. And, Tricia Martyr will play Agatha as featured in the famous cabin scene.
