Kane & Lynch film still in the works, according to Jamie Foxx

KANE & LYNCH is one of those projects that pops its head up every couple months when it seems like it’s gaining some traction… only to fall back into its hole again immediately after in order to hibernate and be forgotten about. Last we heard from the adaptation of the best-selling video game, F. Gary Gray had (supposedly) come aboard to steer it into existence. He doesn’t seem to still be involved, but as far as Jamie Foxx is concerned, the movie is happening, no matter what.

IGN ran into the Oscar-winning actor recently and brought up the topic of the troubled action extravaganza. Foxx’s response: “We’re doing a couple of rewrites but we’re still doing it. And it should be a lot of fun, a lot of action.”

Brief, but to the point. Unfortunately no more info was spilled, so we’re not entirely sure who is writing it and who – if anyone – is in line to direct. (IMDB still lists F. Gary Gray and screenwriter Kyle Ward, but those two are almost certainly not in the mix anymore.) It also remains to be seen if Bruce Willis is attached, as he’s always been, but since he’ll appear in literally anything, I’m sure he’s down.

The jumping off point:
Kane (Bruce Willis), a death row inmate who, along with a schizophrenic killer named Lynch (Foxx), is sprung by Kane’s former team so that he can retrieve a stolen fortune. Kane travels to Los Angeles, Japan and Cuba, with Lynch acting as the team’s watchdog in order to save his wife and daughter.
