Principal photography on DARK HEARTS began on May 10 in Los Angeles, CA and wrapped yesterday, June 1. The independent noir thriller is directed by Rudolf Buitendach off a script written by Christian Piers Betley. Buitendach had this to say about the production:

“Filming Dark Hearts is a dream come true. A top notch crew, a cast who gave their all with intense, raw performances spawned not only by the first class material but also by the organic nature of our endeavor and subject matter which is not for the faint of heart. The results have surpassed all our expectations and we are excited to get the film ready for audiences.”

The film features an ensemble cast including Kyle Schmid, Sonja Kinski (below), Lucas Till, Rachel Blanchard (right), Juliet Landau, Goran Visnjic and Richard Edson. It is produced by Kees Van Oostrum of Black Tulip and Alexis Varouxakis of Adrenaline Entertainment and executive produced by Jack Bowyer.

DARK HEARTS paints a portrait of the downtown Los Angeles arts scene and kicks off when struggling artist accompanies his younger brother to a secret gig where he finds his muse in sultry singer only to be thrust into a maelstrom of art, blood and passion. When domineering manager won’t part with the temptress he sees as his property, a dangerous love triangle ensues. When desire culminates to murder, an unexpected new creativity is unleashed, unveiling the thin line between genius and madness.
