Last week, we reported on a rumor floating around, stating that Lionsgate was eying Robert Pattinson for a role in THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE. You can say we fell for it, but in our defense, so did the actor himself. Sort of. In any case, it all seems clear now as Robert Pattinson denied the rumor of him starring in the follow-up to THE HUNGER GAMES. Here’s how Pattinson put it in an interview for USA Today:
“I woke up this morning and saw all these things about me being cast in The Hunger Games. I was kind of curious for a second. So I called my agent. My agent was like, ‘No, no one’s going to offer you that part.’ I was like, thanks for the reassurance.”
Good to know. While the supposed casting wouldn’t be completely implausible, we were at least right to treat it with a grain of salt. Oh well, for the time being, Pattinson fans will have to make due with seeing him in the final chapter of the TWILIGHT saga, as well as David Cronenberg’s COSMOPOLIS.
COSMOPOLIS’ Juliette Binoche.
