New stills from The ABCs of Death are as demented as you’d expect

It’s been quite a while since we last heard from the makers of the insane and ambitious horror anthology THE ABCS OF DEATH, but now that it’s been announced that the flick will be making its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival, several new images have popped up and they’re so wonderfully bizarre it hurts. Take a look below and see for yourself.

Inspired by children’s educational books, the feature is comprised of 26 individual chapters, each helmed by a different director assigned a letter of the alphabet. The directors were given free reign to choose a word to represent a form of death based on their letter.

This will be a celebration of death in all its forms. From the shocking and exotic through to the banal and droll. The spectrum of cause will run from the accidental through to murder most foul. It is up to each director to interpret the letter (word) they are assigned.

The directors on the anthology are Kaare Andrews, Angela Bettis, Ernesto Diaz Espinoza, Jason Eisener, Bruno Forzani & Héléne Cattet, Adrian Garcia Bogliano, Jorge Michel Grau, Noburo Iguchi, Thomas Malling, Anders Morgenthaler, Lee Hardcastle, Yoshihrio Nishimura, Banjong Pisathanakun, Simon Rumley, Marcel Sarmiento, Jon Schnepp, Srdjan Spasojevic, Timo Tjahjanto, Andrew Traucki, Nacho Vigalondo, Jake West, Ti West, Ben Wheatley, Adam Wingard and Yudai Yamaguchi.
