Even though it’s emerging as a PG-13 zom-com, WARM BODIES is a smart enough flick to pay homage to its evolutionary roots. The trailers have made the flick look funny enough to stand on its own without having to appeal to the taste of hardcore horror fans, but I can’t help but appreciate the effort.
Below you’ll find two new stills. Though they seem to be to pulled from separate scenes from the movie, I would argue their thematic ties are vast. In them we’ve got the film’s protagonist, “R” (Nicholas Hoult), being compared to both Lucio Fulci’s ZOMBIE and the evolutionary arc of primates into humans. Could these undead, ancestral parallels be mere coincedence? I think not…
WARM BODIES, written and directed by Jonathan Levine from Isaac Marion’s novel, stars Hoult, Teresa Palmer, Rob Corddry, Dave Franco and John Malkovich. It doesn’t shamble into theaters till February 1, 2013 so take your time with the pics below.
